About the Author

BirkleyGrunewald

Student of Quantitative Political Economy at Duke Unviersity, China

These papers represent an ongoing attempt to think clearly about politics, economy, and the structures that shape how people live. Inspired by travel and rooted in study, they range from formal academic arguments to shorter reflections on systemic and out of the box questions.

The work sits alongside photography, travel writing, and the story of the people I meet along the way, each form asking a different kind of attention from the same underlying preoccupation.
